First steps
After signing in to Mincemeat for the first time, follow these steps to secure your account and start using the platform.
Before you start
- You have signed in to your Mincemeat account.
- You have access to the dashboard.
Steps
1. Secure your account
Protect your account by setting up two-factor authentication and saving your recovery codes.
- Go to your account settings.
- Select Two-Factor Authentication.
- Follow the setup flow using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password.
- Download or copy your recovery codes and store them somewhere safe.
2. Change your password
If you are using an initial password provided by your administrator, change it to a strong, unique password.
- Go to your account settings.
- Select Change Password.
- Enter your current password and a new password.
- Select Save.
3. Explore the dashboard
The dashboard shows your assigned resources:
- Cloud Instances: Any instances assigned to your account.
- Static Sites: Any static sites you have created or been granted access to.
- Headless CMS: Any content management projects you have created or have access to.
- Site Audit: Any site audit projects you have created to monitor public web pages.
Click on a resource to view its details, status, and configuration.
4. Deploy or set up your first resource
Depending on what your administrator has assigned, you can:
- Create a static site: Go to Static Sites and select Create a site.
- Set up a Headless CMS project: Go to Headless CMS to create a project and design a collection.
- Audit a website: Go to Site Audit and select Create a project to run an automated check on a public page.
- View your instances: Go to Instances and select View your instances.
5. Connect a custom domain (optional)
If you want to use your own domain name:
- Go to Domains.
- Follow the steps to connect a custom domain.
- Add the DNS records at your domain registrar.
